Good luck with carbon capture and storage! We threw so much money at it in Australia for so many years because governments of both persuasions wanted to keep burning coal while pretending to be doing something about carbon emissions. It's never been cost effective. We could build a whole renewables grid with battery storage for less money and in less time than it would take to make CC&S work.

I rarely comment but I feel obliged in this case. George Monbiot was/is an incredible source of information and a superb explainer. One of the best I have heard and on a par with Yanis Varifakis which is saying something. He has a professional dignity which is so lacking in many influencers. And Michael was up to standard as usual although he hardly needed to say anything this time!
